BillSight is a trading name of Alkaid Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. When you use our service, Alkaid Digital Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

2. What data we collect
When you use BillSight we collect the following information:
- Your name and business name
- Your email address
- Your business sector and approximate number of employees
- The energy bill(s) you upload, which may contain your account number, address, meter serial number, and consumption data
- Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
We do not collect any sensitive personal data as defined by UK GDPR (such as health data, financial account credentials, or government ID numbers).
3. Why we collect it and our lawful basis
We collect and process your data to deliver the service you have paid for — specifically, to analyse your energy bill(s) and send you a report. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is contract performance: we need your data to fulfil the service you've requested.
We do not use your data for marketing unless you have separately given us permission to do so.
4. Who we share your data with
We use the following third-party services to deliver BillSight:
- Jotform — our form and file upload provider. Your bill files and form responses are stored on Jotform's servers during processing. We delete submissions from Jotform after your report has been delivered.
- Stripe — our payment processor. We do not store card details.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — used to power our AI bill analysis. Your bill document(s), business name, sector, and submitted-by name are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. Anthropic's data processing terms apply.
- Make.com — our workflow automation platform, used to route analysis results and trigger report delivery. Your analysis results and email address pass through Make.com.
- PDF.co — used to generate your PDF report from the analysis results. Your report content (including business name and bill findings) is processed by PDF.co.
- Google Workspace (Gmail) — used to send your report email.
We do not sell your data, share it with energy suppliers, brokers, or any commercial third party.
5. How long we keep your data
- Uploaded bills: deleted within 30 days of your report being delivered
- Email records: retained for up to 12 months for customer service purposes
- Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by HMRC
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data (where we are not legally required to retain it)
- Object to processing or ask us to restrict it
- Complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk

7. Security
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Uploaded documents are stored in access-controlled cloud storage and deleted after processing. We limit access to your data to only those systems involved in delivering your report.
8. Cookies
Our website uses only essential cookies required for it to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies and do not require a cookie consent banner.
